Good Old Games now has Descent 3 available as a DRM-Free Download. This download includes the Descent 3: Mercenary expansion pack for free. Sweet! You can also get Descent 1 and 2 for $5.99 here Please remember that all three of these games can be tricky to get working. The downloads are ostensibly compatible with Windows, but it may take some tweaking to get them to run correctly. Rest assured that it is possible to get Descent 3 to run on Windows XP/Vista/7. If you need help with this, check out the GOG Descent Series Support Forums. Fans of Descent 1 and 2 will also want to investigate DXX-Rebirth and/or D2X-XL.

UNOFFICIAL PATCHES FIXED IN WINDOWS 98

We have fixed the Descent 3 NOCD Version 1.4 Patch and the Descent 3 BETA Version 1.5 Patch so they now run properly under Windows 98. Thanks to John A. VARIOUS SMALL UPDATES

The D3 US/EU/AUS Version 1.4 Patch has been renamed to D3 NOCD Version 1.4. This more accurately reflects the fact that no game CD is required when running this version of the game. The D3 NOCD Version 1.4 has been added to the European and Australian sections on the Downloads so it will be clear to the user that this patch works for all localizations of Descent 3. The FAQ Page has been updated based on various questions from support emails and also to increase clarity.

NEW DOWNLOAD: UNOFFICIAL DESCENT 3 1.5 PATCH

We have added a new Descent 3 patch to the downloads section. This patch was originally a beta version of the never-completed official 1.5 patch. In its current state, this 1.5 patch is unofficial, incomplete and unsupported. There are no guarantees for the patch's stability or functionality. The unofficial 1.5 patch is not compatible with version 1.4 nor is it compatible with the Mac or Linux clients. That being said, some players and game servers are using the incomplete 1.5 patch as it does contain some playability fixes. Use at your own risk. You can download it at the Downloads Page
